Specializing in Anxiety, Resilience, and Emotional Regulation. Change is about Action, not just Insight!

About Yvette

Yvette Currie, LMFT (#45439), runs a private practice in San Diego’s Bankers Hill neighborhood, specializing in anxiety, trauma recovery, and emotional regulation for individuals, including: active-duty military, former active duty military, and their partners. In her 20+ years of experience, she’s worked inside domestic violence shelters, youth treatment facilities, offender programs, and human trafficking recovery. She’s trained military personnel on resilience from Coronado to the Persian Gulf, including deployments aboard an aircraft carrier and the USNS Mercy medical ship.

That range is why clients describe her as direct, no-nonsense, and allergic to therapy-speak. Most clients leave their first session with a concrete next step, not just a next appointment.

Her engaging humorous style and experience as a graduate school clinical professor, trainer, and guest speaker makes her easy to learn from -she breaks down psychological principles without the sterile jargon.

Yvette is also a published author (Church Proof: From Burned to Church Hurt Resistant), and a guest contributor for organizations including the U.S. Navy, Point Loma Nazarene University, CAMFT’s The Therapist, and Rock Church San Diego.

"The sculpture is already complete within the marble block, before I start my work. It is already there, I just have to chisel away the superfluous material."
